The radio can be reprogrammed to different frequency ranges using a key combination.

Caution: On newer devices (from late 2017 onwards?), reprogramming via key combination no longer works! There is software from Alinco (the so-called O-Setup software) that is not freely available. It is best to ask your dealer.

Some time ago (2014) I played around with the SDR reception using a DVB-T stick. The SDR# program is ideal for this. The program was at this time still open source software, so that you were able to understand the program to write your own plugins. Two plugins are available from this time

Easyscanner is a plugin for the SDR# programm to scan frequencies according to a list. It has a few settings, e.g. to set the scan intervall and release time and trigger level.
